New York City is getting ready to celebrate the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with free public fan events across all five boroughs.
New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee announced a citywide schedule of official NYNJ Fan Events. These events will give New Yorkers the opportunity to enjoy the World Cup atmosphere without needing a ticket to the matches.
The free fan events are expected to include live match viewings, cultural programming, family-friendly activities, interactive experiences, and opportunities for local businesses to participate. City officials said the goal is to bring the energy of the World Cup directly to communities throughout New York City.
The announcement was made on Staten Island on Monday, April 27, 2026, as New York and New Jersey continue preparing to welcome soccer fans from around the world.
For many families and soccer fans, these free events will be an important opportunity to experience one of the world's biggest sporting events in a public and community setting.
